Miami AZ Sullivan Street 1914

This photo was taken looking east on Sullivan Street in 1914. The two story building on the left side of the photo is The Price Brothers Building built in 1913. The first building on the right side of the photo (can see part of the arch) is The Arizona Meat Market built in 1912. The Miami Townsite Company Building is the first two story building on the right side of the photo. This building was constructed in 1912-13 and the second half of the building (not in photo) was not built until 1914-15. In 1908 Cleve Van Dyke purchased the tract known as Miami flats (now downtown Miami) from the Miami Land and Improvement Company and also began purchasing adjacent tracts of land. He formed the Miami Townsite Company and began selling lots in October 1909.
